Babka On-Line Cooking Class on Zoom™
Interested in finding out what it was like to attend an interactive online cooking class, we decided to become Zoom™ students this month. Chef Shimi Aaron, an extraordinary bread baker, located in the L.A. area, was offering several baking classes.
We also found out that it was better to have our ingredients ready-to-go and available. “Mise en Place” Everything in its place and premeasured. Ready for Action.

After attending three of Chef Shimi’s interactive classes, we were delighted by the amount of individual help that students received during the class and how he guided his students’ progress, step-by-step to accomplish difficult baking techniques.
So yes, we learned how to bake some beautiful breads, but the bonus was that we had a great time laughing and sharing the experience.

The surprise was that after several classes, it felt like we were part of the cooking tribe. Many of the people took more than one class and were from different parts of the world, Asia, Australia, Canada, India, Europe, and the U.S. With todays “shelter-in” experience, this social interaction with the group was totally unexpected.
